The fun begins November 25th with. . .

Holiday Shopping Passport  (Nov. 25 – Dec. 24)

We have partnered with Local First Arizona on this holiday initiative to consciously spend your holiday money at locally-owned businesses in the Flagstaff, Arizona community. It is free to play! With every stop at one of our 21 participating businesses, you’ll receive a sticker with the total dollar amount of your purchase. To complete your passport, you must make purchases at your choice of 8 of the 21 participating businesses, OR spend a total of $250. Fill it out to enter to win one of 20 fabulous gift card packages.

Passports will be available at any of the participating businesses prior to Thanksgiving and are yours to shop with until the end of the holiday season (December 24th).

When your passport is complete, return it to one of the participating businesses. Winners will be contacted in the first week of January.

Holiday Movie Series (Nov. 26 – Dec. 17)

We will be celebrating the holidays in full swing at The Orpheum Theater through Dec. 17! DECEMBER 20th: The Biggest Night Downtown

  • First off, it is December’s Locals’ Night from 3-7pm. We don’t know what our businesses will be offering yet, but we do know that the deals will be amazing like past months!
  • Secondly, it is the night of Jingle Bell Shop. From 5-8pm participating businesses will have local musicians performing for you to enjoy as you finish your last minute holiday shopping!
  • Lastly, the Luminaria Stroll through downtown will brighten your night! This inaugural event is something we’re very excited for! Luminarias will light up San Francisco St., Leroux St., and Aspen Ave. from 5-8pm. Come stroll the streets with your friends and family and make this your new holiday tradition while shopping the great holiday deals, or dining at your favorite downtown restaurant!

Window Decorating Contest (Dec. 1 – Dec. 23)

Flagstaff is Arizona’s Winter Wonderland and we want downtown to look the part! This year we are going to have a contest between our participating downtown businesses to see who has the most holiday cheer! Windows will be decorated by November 25th, and then it is up to YOU, the public, to decide the winner. We will post pictures of the windows on Instagram and Facebook and the two businesses with the most combined likes will win the 1st and 2nd place prizes! Voting begins December 1st and will end December 23rd. We will have maps with the businesses on there so you can walk through downtown and see the windows up close and personal!

City Tree Lighting (Dec. 3)

Holiday Parade of Lights (Dec. 10)

With summer-time weather now in full swing, those in Flagstaff no longer have to take cover once night hits to escape the cold. That means balmy late nights where you can hit the town, and what is a better way to end your night then with some food!! In this week’s post we will be counting down our top 9 favorite places downtown where food is being served past 9 p.m.

Gringodillas

Hours:

Mon – Tue: 9:00pm – 2:30am

The 1st Food Truck in Flagstaff, Gringodillas, is known for it yummy gourmet Quesadillas and Hot Dogs. Located in the alley way by Flag Brew its the perfect place to grab a bite and enjoy the warm summer’s night.

 

Sosoba

Hours:

When wanting something to eat late at night with some Asian Flare Sosoba is the place to go. They are known for their noodle bowls, but don’t forget to also check out their ‘shares’, which include some unique options like the pork and kimchi tostada. They also have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options as well!

The Commerce a relative new comer to the downtown Flagstaff scene shouldn’t be overlooked when trying to find a late night bite to eat. They serve an array of salads and sandwiches, our personal favorite being the Croque Madame.

Uptown Pubhouse

Thur – Sat: 1:00pm – 2:00am

Uptown has a brand new menu that is worth checking out. Their authentic Irish dishes and outdoor patio are a sure way to make any late night meal satisfying. They even have whiskey paired dishes on the menu. Yum!

Want to have some fancy food with a casual dining experience? Check out Shift, they offer an array of gourmet dishes to share like their delicious asparagus served with brassicas, yogurt, and preserved lemon.

4 Free Summer Activities in Downtown Flagstaff

Summer has finally arrived in Flagstaff!! With the temperature rising and the days getting longer it’s the perfect time to get outside and explore all the things that Downtown Flagstaff has to offer. On a budget? We’ve made a list of our top 4 favorite summer activities to do in Flagstaff that won’t break the bank.

1) Movies on the Square:

Movies of the Square has been a Flagstaff tradition throughout the years. Every Saturday at dusk Heritage Square comes alive with pajama-clad families, arms filled with blankets, to find the perfect spot on the steps of the square to watch a fun family film. If the little ones are getting restless before the movie starts there are hula hoops, giant Jenga, and board games to keep them entertained. Still not sold that this is the perfect way for your family to spend their Saturday night? There is also a concession stand that sells everything from Ice Cream Sandwiches to the oh so yummy Fratelli’s Pizza!

2) Flagstaff Community Market:

Are you a foodie at heart? Do you want to support local farmers? If you answered yes to either of these questions then the Flagstaff Community Market is the perfect place for you to spend your Sunday mornings. Starting at 8 am local independent farmers open up business and sell an assortment of local produced foods and goods. Not into cooking? Don’t worry the Market has multiple vendors selling pre-made treat to nosh on as you roam the market such as crepes, lavender lemonade, and tamales!

3) Flagstaff Urban Flea Market:

Held every second Saturday of the month the Flagstaff Urban Flea Market is the perfect place to search for a unique bauble or a piece of clothing to spice up your wardrobe! Starting at 9:00 am the Vendors open up shop in the City Hall parking lot to sell an array of items such as records, antiques, bicycles, gems and minerals, handmade woodwork and leatherwork, ceramics, soaps, vintage clothing, household goods, jewelry, and upcycled goods.

4) Kids Squared:

Wanna get the kids involved in some summer activities such as a Dance class or a Pottery Workshop? Bring them down to Heritage Square every Saturday from 10-11:00 am for some fun, interactive activities created for children ages 2-12.
